Been messing around with narrow stance sumos ( deads and hi pulls) in an effort to take a little stress off the old back. The mechanics seem pretty basic, however , feet position under bar ( 5 degrees more? ) and shin position behind the bar, hips to knee height etc I'm not clear on. I've always pulled conventional with a power clean starting position shoulders out in front of bar, feet centered under the bar shins close, chest out .... hips slightly above knees. Essentially the Ripptoe set up but everyone pulled like that in the 70''s.

Thanks !

Ok Andy got it thanks. But serious, height is factor ? Seems Coan, when he did the Samuri Night Sumo was modified. My goal isn't a big deadlift ( had one of those once) it's back health and some carry over wob sheaf caber. 600 would be nice just as long as its more than M. Baabarino's

Don, Here is a link to a vid of Coan pulling over 800@ 198. From what I have read, pics, videos the feet for a narrow sumo are just outside the shoulders and feet close to a 45 degree angle.
