I pulled up the results from last year's KC event in June.  Got a bit of a fright right off the bat to see Daniel McKim in the amateur class....

38'9" in the Braemar....15' in WFH....gah!

Then I looked down at the amateur c's.....ah....there's my group....
11' WFH and 83# caber.  Those Braemer stone throws still seem a bit long....:^(

No worries, go out and have fun and throw for PR's.  There are always guys who have a few great events.  There are also a few people who sandbag and will try and lift in the C or B class unless the AD forces them to move up. Oh, it might have been a real light stone or he might have been a high school shot put stud?

The winner of my last comp in the B division won 5 of 7 events and set 2 field records!  He has been FORCED up to A twice before...this is the 3rd time he moved up (he apparently took some time off or had injuries or whatever).  Personally I don't plan on throwing B's all that long, once I am good enough, I will move up to A and take my butt whoopin like a man

Here Here. Thats what it is all about if you are not throwing for money. Same as in the gym, we are always pulling for PR's.

unless the AD forces them to move up.

We had a guy show up in Maine last year, he came late. Had never participated before, and joined the B group... (The group I was throwing in...) well, he was a natural! He threw so much further then everyone else on his first event that last years AD moved him up to A. I hope to see him back this year.

I hear that. I think that in New England Maine is the only games with a B division, so I have been training my ass off. My throws I am making now would have been good enough to win most of the events in the B division, but were shorter then the shortest A throws from Maine last year. I will think if ya when I am getting my ass handed to me all summer in the Am-a's!
