New to NASGA, just went to the Scottish Highland Games in Pleasanton Ca. It was awesome! Just curious about how to get started training? Got the basics of lifting down. Squats, deads, shoulder press, some basic oly lifting nothing advanced, etc.  What specific exercises will help with prepping  for scottish heavy athletics?  Does anyone know of anybody  in Livermore/Dublin/ Pleasanton Ca area? Thanks

Go to Amazon.com and search for Training Lab and Throwing Lab, both by Matt Vincent (He's on here).  He was the World Champion last year and knows what he is talking about.  I am currently using Training Lab and will be getting Throwing Lab in a couple of weeks.

Other than that, you should be able to find a group in your area to start throwing with.  Good luck and welcome

I'm not sure where you live in the bay area but there are a few training groups around. I train with the group at Stanford on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 til dark. Stop by if you are in the area.
