They were set up close to us that day. I think we threw the sheaf higher, even though they had Jesus on their side.

Ok, I'm going to tell a story on myself. In 2003, the strongman team that my and my buddies are involved in were invited to the strongman nationals in St. Louis to perform with Omegaforce and Team Xtreme (another Christian Strongman group that also has bmx bike riders, skateboarders, that kind of stuff). The last day we were in the family arena in St. Charles, about 3500 people present. Randy (the guy in the video) wanted to do his sheaf toss routine, but deferred to me as he thought I was better at it. He set it up at 27ft, for the final toss. I think the bag weighed, honestly, about 14lb, though he said it was 16. I have a video of it, I think I cleared the top of the standards by 6ft. One of my "prouder" moments. Now, if I could only throw that well at the MWC.....

OK, another story along these lines. My buddy Mitch and I went to a HG in Arkansas. On the way back, he started talking about this 400ft tall Jesus statue he saw when he was a kid. I looked at him and said, "I want to see that, and called BS on him. Mitch then tried to back peddle a little, "Well, maybe it was 200ft". I called him on that too, but agreed that if it were 200ft tall, I'd still conceed defeat and we made our usual lunch bet. Well, we got to this place and they had a statue of Jesus.....it was maybe, maybe 60ft tall, more like 50ft. It was made of concrete and pretty....well.....to be honest....cheesy. I guess when you are a kid, everything looks bigger.

This one? 67 feet. It's in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It looks big when you can see it from all over the town all lit up at night. |

I heard somewhere that spinning makes the baby jesus cry. I'm not a clergyman or anything, so I may be wrong.
