I seemed to have peaked about two weeks ago "I don't know if you even peak in HG". my stone is Ok but the WFD are both down about 5' and the hammers are down about 15-20' the my first tenative games is July 1. how many here give up lifting for the on-season? |

My first guess would be that you are over training. Don't "give up" lifting, just cut back.

Or at least over-reaching, which is a less severe version of the same phenomenon.

Yeah. True overtraining takes a long time, and has all kinds of
physiological symptoms (changes in blood pressure and/or resting heart
rate, inability to sleep, change in appetite, loss of strength, chronic
muscle or joint pain, and so forth), and takes a long time to clear up
(like months).
Over-reaching is much milder, can come on in a matter of weeks, and can clear up in a week or so either by taking time off or backing off on volume/intensity. Generally speaking, this is much more likely to be the case. -Wayne |

Wayne, solid comment as usual.I recently had to back off a bit.Lyle, sometimes you have to take a tactical retreat to regain your strength or composure.I'm 36 and I can't beat myself up like I'm 18.It takes a little more time for recovery from intense training.I'd love to lift and train 7 days a week, but that would land me in the hospital.I have to listen to my body. When it starts to hurt more than usual it's time to slow down some.First sign for me is my numbers start to stagnate or go down.Time to relax and recuperate.

I just threw this morning after 3 complete days of rest " hard thing to force myself to do" both WFD are back to normal but the darn hammers are still down by 10-15' and I'm stumped, the first of the year I was hitting 100'+ with the light everytime I threw, this morning 89' '
