I got me one.  Looks like a baby alien.  What do I do short of surgery to fix it?  Need some BRO-SCIENCE advice here.
If Spencer Tyler is the gamma bomb of explosion, you and I are like single-serving flan cups in his lunchbox. Pasty, Jiggly, Delicious, but otherwise not very explosive. DUNCAN MCCALLUM

Hey, not that it matters, but I was very impressed with Logan's performance in Tulsa.  He was hard at it all day, was encouraging of all the other Athletes, and made good decisions with the caber.

His haircut is ultra lame.

Dude, I laughed so hard at your caber comment:
"What happened there Rob?"
"Eh, belly got in the way."
"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Sorry about your tummy.  Call the Space Marines?
The man in the arena.

I will be sure to tell him.  Yeah working on the belly in the way thing.  Down about 40 from THISTLE hopefully down another 60 by NTHKOG.  Want to be at 300 by THISTLE 2012 and 280 by next Tulsa Games.

I guess the kid got tired of me hounding him about his hair being shaggy and unkept.  I didn't think he would want to take it all off but I obliged him.  Once it gets cold he might change his mind.

Have your physician evaluate it.  It may not be a hernia per se, but instead a "diastasis recti", which is a thinning/weakening of the linea alba that forms the center of the "six-pack" in the rectus abdominus.  I have a couple male training clients with them (both have relatively large abdomens); one of the men describes his similarly as his "alien".  Sometimes pregnant women also get them from the stretching of the abdominal wall.

I'm not practicing medicine, but if your physician says it's a diastasis, he/she will likely let you know that if it doesn't cause you any pain, not to worry.  From what I've read about surgery for a diastasis, it's kind of hit/miss and not likely to be covered by insurance unless there's a medical issue involved.

Google "diastasis recti" for both "exercises" and "surgery" to get additional info.

Several years ago I had an umbilical hernia.  Finally went to the surgeon because it was getting larger, protruding more.  He went in and put in a piece of 'mesh' and stitched it closed.  It's been great ever since.

If it doesn't cause me any pain or get any worse looking, I think I will just wait it out.  No since in going under the knife and not being able to train like I want for 4-6 weeks.
