Hello everyone! So the problem is as follows:
I am training to compete in the games and I see that many of you are working like crazy in the gym. However, I have the issue that I cannot afford a gym membership nor do I own any weights. A friend has a home gym set up but I do not get to go see him often. Are there any ways I can make improvised weights which I can use to exercise for the Games? Perhaps milk jugs filled with water or sand attached to a rope or heavy tree stumps with attached handles? Thanks!

do you have a car? push it on grass fifty feet; get a thick rope, brace your feet and pull your car back the fifty feet. do this for sets
do you have a sledgehammer? an old truck tire? slam the tire with the sledge, right and left handed for a lot of reps, you choose; no tire? beat the crap out of your car (just kidding) do you have a yard? mark off thirty paces and run sprints, 50, 75, 100% speed do you have a wheelbarrow? fill it with dirt and carry it the thirty paces for time.. do you have a little brother or child, maybe a wife? have him/her straddle your neck, sitting on your shoulders while you do squats; do a lot of them football great All-American herschel walker never lifted weights, preferring pushups, chins and situps; might work for you too |

Here's an article that Calrton Shedrick wrote which should give you some good ideas for all sorts of bodyweight only drills:

THank you so much for all of the ideas! Sadly I do not have any of those things except a place I can sprint/do other bodyweight exercises and a wife, but I'm not quite strong enough to lift her on my shoulders yet. Either way, I will make due with what I have and maybe get a sledge and a tire to practice with!
