Ladies, Get your registrations in for this year's 2nd Annual Valkyrie All-Women's Highland Games in Twin Falls, ID on July 5th. Deadline June 26th. We had a blast with 30 athletes last year. Here's what you can look forward to this year:
-Mucho Swag for all: a bag, water bottle, wicking shirts (poly tanks available), and patches
-Prizes are plaques and drinking horns
-$15 Dorms! Available for athletes and spectators (so bring your man, or kids if needed).
-Rolling pin toss, bye-in for the men (and women, too)
-21# heavy weight for height and distance for Novice, Lightweight (<150), and Masters
-Fireworks on Friday night right at the Field and Dorms. No need to miss out on Independence Day celebrations.
-Both breakfast and lunch provided, but we need a head count!

Oh, and ALL class will throw the 10# sheaf, no more 12#

Updated athlete list. Could really use some B class, even though it is a bit hard to define in the women's case. Deadline is this Thursday, June 26th.

I had never heard of a women's C class before. However, here is the link to the guidelines SAAA had about moving up a class. Has Women's B to A and A to Pro (yeah, right).

The Valkyrie games were a success. We had 26 athletes and some of the best friendship-building times one could ask for in the games. Fireworks on Friday were great and all athletes were finished throwing by 2 or 3 pm! Results are in the data base as best we could manage without all the Women's classes available.
Next year will be on July 4th with all your favorites including 15$ dorm rooms and lunch. There will be fireworks right on the field that night after competition with more audience. We may also provide light, embroidered wind-breaker jackets to replace t-shirts and all other swag. Let's make next year even bigger ladies! |
