If you are like me, I have a whole bunch of five foot sticks of pvc left over from hammer handles. 
I make hammers with 3/4" & 1/2" pvc for 4lbs hammers up to 22 lbs. I made a little video on how to make a bell end on the other half of PVC pipe for hammer handles.

Thanks for posting this! I have recently dusted off my hammer (16lb Landrich) and am going to make a lighter and heavier hammer too. I'll be using your video tips.
