The Seattle Scottish Highland Games Association North American Scottish Athletics Championship XIII
This year is the 2nd year where we will be filtering through scores to eliminate those scores from games that either do NOT meet the minimum payout for elite/pro or have known field issues. Amateur games that will have their scores counted are North/South, The Arnold Sports Classic, Pleasanton and Minnesota Highland Games. Scores from games occurring between June 17th 2017 - June 16th 2018 will be used to determine the cut.
The NASGA database rankings/scores will be used to determine the twelve (12) best Elite North American male applicants and six (6) best Elite North American female applicants to be invited (however, neither Canada nor the US will be represented by fewer than two (2) men and one (1) woman from that page.) The ADs will reserve the right to make a slight change to the cut list if necessary to enable special athlete appearances or to facilitate local athletes if scores are close.
There are also five (5) Pre-Elite classes; Men's A and Women's A on Saturday, and Master Men (40-49 and 50+up) and Master Women on Sunday. There is room for twelve (12) athletes each in Men's A and Master Men but only six (6) each in Women's A and Master Women.
Last year's Pre-Elite Champions, Runners-up, Caber Champs, and new
field record setters are invited first. From the pool of applicants, the
remaining spots are filled by the best athletes (based on NASGA rankings),
local athletes and by promptness of application. As always, applicants
not making the 'cut' will have their application fee returned.

I've updated the post with the most recent applicant names. Looks like we have a decent number of applicants for most classes but can use some more for Women's Class A, Master Men 50 & Up and Master Women. If you're thinking of putting your name in the hat, don't hesitate to do so. Cut off date for applications is June 16th.
