I am new to Throwing and researching some off-season agility, speed and throwing exercises. I found this medicine ball exercise on a reputable website and wanted to get some feedback.

Also, if you have other medicine ball exercises or throwing exercises, please feel free to share.

thanks,

I recomend an 8# ball, I have a 12# and it's brutal, the hard part is finding someone stupid enough to join you.

Kind of like Jeff's Hoover-Ball --- Kinda.  I did get the idea from him and Danny John on this one though.

Been doing this for several years and in fact use it as a 'Fun Event' at some competitions.

Set your WOB Standard to 13' --- with a 15# Medicine Ball you throw and catch the ball, clearing the height each time as many times as you can in one minute.  My best is 24.  Do three sets of this and your arms are like noodles and ready for hammer training, ha, ha, ha.

P.S. hurts like hell when you get a ball to the face, but when someone else does it's hard to not laugh your arse off at him.

OK I played Hoover Ball with my throwers yesterday. Mind you these are decent high school kids. We played for 45 minutes or so and I will tell you it is a good workout. I ma a little sore today in my abs, shoulders, triceps and legs.

It is really fun and the kids had a great time. The best part is all of the different ways they used to throw the 8lbs ball. they put it, overhead toss twisted and even threw it like a grenade.

If you have some willing youngsters you should give it a try!
