On Coach Mac (and others) advice I have been experimenting with doing Olympic lifts, and have been enjoying it alot. I'm interested in going to watch a meet or trying to hook up with a club. The problem is that I can't find a schedule of meets or list of clubs. The USA weightlifting and Masters Weightlifting sites have listings only for major meets. Since you guys were so helpful with my last question, I thought I'd try here again. Thanks, Andrew |

This section of the USA Weightlifting site seems to have smaller competition listings: http://www.msbn.tv/usavision/displayPage.aspx?id=330 If there doesn't seem many listed, that's because there aren't many around. |

Thanks, The closest city to me is Ottawa, the closest US cities are Syracuse and Burrlington. When I went to that link I saw there was a meet in Pgh (where my family is from), and I'll be in town a week before it. Bummer! Thanks again for the help. (PS that's 12-1 now)

Those that train the Oly way are sometimes hard to find. But if you can get contact info for someone reasonably local to you, they can put you in contact with someone closer. The USAW site is a good place to start. But try to contact someone directly, preferably contected to a club or University. The meets are hard to find because there aren't many, and the ones that are out there tend not to be publicised well. East Coast Gold is a team on the east coast (go figure), and they may be a good place to try, as well. |
