Greetings, I was at the Bristol Ren. Faire this weekend, where I watched the Highland Games. After watching the whole event I decided this would be something I would like to try. The announcer said this would be the place to start. So if there is anyone in the Kenosha Area who would be willing to help me out and get me started I would really appreciate it. thanks. |

OH....another thought. Look at lots and lots of youtube videos. (If you look at enough of them you'll reach a basic understanding of the techniques without picking up specific bad habits.)

Just come out and give it a try, Davenport, IA is not that far away and my novice class is empty. You should be guaranteed of winning something. Or go the other way and hit the Kalamazoo games.

There is also Strongman of the Glen in Springfield, IL and the Wisconsin games coming up -- you will find that the other throwers will be very helpfull in getting you started. Just show up and do it!

Pre-law ..a little.. only learned that becuase my EX-SCANK keeps me in court. Relationship is all about snuggling and cuddling after wards.. as well as answering everything with "Yes Dear" |

I did some training with Rhett last night, and I had a blast. I really think I am going to get into this. I threw HWFD, LWFD and Heavy Weight Over Bar. I think I did pretty well for my first time, just a little sore now.
