From Old School Strength Forum-- and article

12 year old Varya Akulova in Ukraine has
astonishing strength. According to a newspaper
report in November, Varya easily lifts 82 lb each
kettle bells in each hand, she can lift a 300 lbs
barbell off the ground and hold a barbell loaded
with 300 lbs in weights over her head for 10 seconds.
It was reported Varya also EASILY supported a
platform with ten men on it using leg and arm
strength combined, total weight of
about 1,550 lbs. Varya weighs around 90 lb to 94 lbs.
She has never been injured training,
never, often lifting 50 tons in one workout according
to newspapers. She enjoys training with weights and
athletics, she can run very fast, jump high, has
incredible balance and is a trained gymnast. She is
also said to be near genius in intelligence and a
great painter. She is skilled in boxing but no hits to
the head for safety. She is also an excellent kickboxer.
She trains with kettle bells weighing between 54 lbs and 82 lbs
each, now she lifts the 82 lb weight with extreme ease, to her
it is like lifting a tennis ball. Varya soon wants to try bending
nails with fingers and bending steel bars.

Now Brian-

I admit that I don't THINK I''m very strong, ... but c'mon.

At 94lbs, she's not gonna lift 300lbs. It takes one hell of a man to lift 300lbs... I'm not convinced.

I coach alot of kids this age (12yrs) and they're not gonna lift 50 tons in one workout.

I don't even believe that a girl who is near genius in intelligence really wants to box, or bend nails.

And I don't THINK I'm very smart either, ... so there.

I remember reading about some kid born last year in Germany from parents that were Olympic athletes. both abused HgH etal. The baby was born with a genitic side effect that the enzime that keeps your muscle growth in check was signifigantly retarded.

aledgedly this kid is already 87lbs and can pickup two 20kilo bags and hold them outright.  Word has it the Olympic committee wants to keep these 'Genetic freaks' from ever competing.

That said, I don't have a problem at all with what she says/ shows she can lift. If the kid was trained from birth it is possible. Dickle is an old man that suffered a broken back as a teen. He now tosses around 180lb balls (ok no sick jokes here) and can deadlift over 1000lbs.

She seems quite impressive, but also appears to be a circus performer of some sort.  They never exaggerate their abilities.

I saw the article.  Apparently, the men on both sides of the family of this boy exhibit reduced enzyme inhibition, making them very strong.  Apparently, the kid has almost a complete suppression of the enzyme. Calling Dr. Xavier.  What about the little girl that can feel no pain.  Those 2 definately have to have children.

I do believe you are correct. I know that they are working on doing genetics to reduce that but some of these kids are just born that way. Damn them....

Well what do you expect for the Russians, old habits die hard. But on the other hand she might have inherited some genetic steroid DNA from her mother….you know the one with the beard and a dress!

There's something just not right about this.  I love strength events, but it seems wrong to put a kid up to that so young.

Speaking of strong kids, the Discovery Channel had a documentary on the Ukrainian boy that lives in Cali(Richard something), that is pound for pound the strongest human in the world.  They speculate that the supplements that his father has given him since he was 3 or 4 has had oral anabolic steroids in them.

I believe his name is Richard Sandrak. He's like 12 now.

I think his moniker was "Little Hercules".  I believe I saw a Discovery channel special, or something like that, on him.  It wasn't natural.  They got the kid away from his dad and it all went away.

Here's the genetic aberration story

http://www.mounteverest.net/story/GermanSuperKidBecomesSup erClimberJun242004.shtml
and here..
http://dox.media2.org/barista/archives/000811.html

I don't think the HgH abuse was considered the cause.
