Thats what works when you throw right handed. I would think it would feel too wierd to have the right hand above the left when throwing right handed.

Hey Todd, I am thinking there must be another reason? If you watch the video the right hand is much higher than normal... As Mac Wilkins says, the longer the lever the longer the throw... With that being said why keep the right hand inches above the left? |

I saw the same thing in a photo of Fraser Ewan that I took in 2006. I remember asking him about it, but I don't remember his answer.

I think his hands are just split for a little extra leverage during the cast. Then, he appears to let the right hand slide back to the left. If that is what he is doing, it is just a little bit of extra leverage to start the cast. Think of chopping wood with an axe: the hands are split as you lift the axe, but the top hand slides down to the bottom as its accelerated down to the wood. |

I know of a thrower that grips his right hand on top of the left hand when throwing. I tried it once and it felt really strange.
