I pretty well understand where the power position is for the WFD, at the end of the first turn, but I would buy beer and pretzels (unless it's Myles, then he gets skittles )  for some pics/video of the power position at the back of the SECOND turn.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and all that.  Help?

HA.

This was helpful.  Francis Brebner,  1998

Why haven't I found this video before?

Lesson for me, at least....  A.) "catch" the weight further "behind" and B.) get our feet down quickly at the end of the sprint phase so that you have the stability to power out of the "catch".

Alan when you throw the weights for distance, do you cast the weight then throw your hips around in front of your shoulder? This is what allows you to catch and drop into position.

Alan,

Francis catches the weight so far back so that he has plenty of time to reach and NAIL that power position (correct me if im wrong Francis).  If im not mistaken, the power position should be the same on the first and second spin.

By the looks of your video, the thing you need most is DRIVE after that first spin.

Drink to the fame of it, honor the name of it, The Tartan.

I will give away my darkly held secret and show you where I'm coming "from"... as in two years ago.

...and that should tell you why I'm a bit paranoid about getting some gas and power, and getting my feet down in my second turn!
