I don't throw the heavies in prectice much at all. I just stick tot the
lighter weights because if you can do the light, the heavy is the same thing but slowed down in a way. Throwing is very much about timing, and if you figure your timing out with a light weight that is moving fast, it will be easier to find the the timing with a heavy weight that moves slower. On the other hand, learning the timing of a heavy weight and then trying to figure out the timing on a light weight, is not as easy. At least that's what I've experienced. I even practice braemar with the 16. |
