Greetings one and all. My name is Josh, I'm 36 and live in Penacook Nh. I'm no stranger to things Scottish. My mother is a Buchanan, so I was raised with games and kilts and yes, even haggis. I've never thrown competitively in any form, nor am I close to ready.
For now I'm lifting, brining up my strength and trying to learn basic techniques of throwing. I'm hoping to be ready next season to thow novice, and possibly Amature C.
Anyway, I wanted to stop just trolling and say hi.

Hey Josh,

Welcome.  Hapy means we don't really have much in the way of novice class around here.  The best way to learn is to throw with people that are in the know.  Youtube is great, but can't beat the actual throwing with instant verbal feedback.  We are mid season here so the next beginner friendly game will probably be Scotland, CT that first weekend in October.  I would encourage you to go and you will learn enough in just that 1 day to make the trip worthwhile.  Hapy might have his Halloween classic at the end of October so that might be another opportunity.

It also helps that you are only ~1 hr away from one of the top amateur throwers in the country, Jeff Kaste.  His username on NASGA is TheJeff696.  If you can get the chance to throw with Jeff and Tony Robinson (grasshopper here on NASGA), do it.  They know wassup.

Al, what about Quechee for him...or does Ken restrict who can compete?

Bill Crawford is also in Concord NH and is the man I learned a ton from when first starting out. Might give him a shout too.    His handle is slingblade on here.   Welcome!

Quechee might be a go as well.  There is also Denise Houseman and Brian Hansen  - both in Manchester.  Big Bill Waddell in Springfield, NH and Currier brothers in Claremont area.
