In conversation over the past year I was told that there are games some place that have a judge per event.  Not per class but each event.  What this does is make sure that all athletes are judged the same for each event..  I kind of like that as you can actually compare performances of athletes better especially in the caber..  But I would think as a judge it might be a bit less fun...    What do you guys think??

This would cost small games more money because the number of throwing flights would be less than the number of events or stations for throwing.

WOB, Sheaf, WFD, Hammer, Stones, Caber would seem to imply at least 6 judges (maybe a 7th for a side caber judge).

If a games has 6 or 7 flights of throwers, then it would be equally cost effective. However, if an AD has that many flights, I am guessing he would also have a LWFD and HWFD throwing pit, and perhaps two stone throwing pits.  This again would increases the number of judges above the number of flights making it more expensive than the traditional judging method of one judge per flight.

That's my 2 cents

You wouldn't need to have more judges than you had flights.  Just juggle the schedule to have the same ones judges the same events.

Although unless you already had enough judges to cover all the events, I don't really see going to the trouble.

I am doing something similar to this. I am having a judge for each trig (3) and a judge for each flight (3). When the distance events are done, the three trig judges will either do caber side judging or other duties. With 48 athletes and a time limit of 8:30 - 4:30 I have to have judges to keep things moving.

This method worked awesmome. We ran around 45 athletes through 6 events, a farmers walk and trophies by 5:00 with an 8:45 start time.

3 Flight Judges, 3 measure judges and 2 score table workers. I also provided on field food so the athletes could eat in the somewhat long flights (15 - 19 in each of three flights)...
