For legs tonight after squating and deading, I was going to push the truck around some.  I don't have anything to pull with so I figured I would go the other way, anyone ever do this and like it.  Seems like it would be grueling, and save on gas.

Heck yes- all the time for drive blocking conditioning back in the day- make sure you are using fast feet - don't take long slow steps - you gotta get it going ( flat large parking lot recommended) THEN run around the front and stop it - again with fast feet - do not die/fall/etc. Enjoy.

Don't use your arms, lean up against.Use short choppy steps.Again don't push with your arms,it shifts the load away from just your legs.On the way back, stick your back against the truck. If the truck is small throw some weight in the back.I used to do this at least once a week to get ready for a strongman comp.It hits your legs in a way I can't describe.Have fun,but be safe.

I "pull" trucks when I am getting ready for a big tug O War comp it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes I do it by myself or sometimes with the team. Pushing is actually safer. You should have a break man if you are pulling on a hard surface.
have fun
it was 50 in northeast Ohio yesterday got to do some hammer work!
its 30 today with 2 inches of snow

Iused to have my HS throwers do this. An 87 Full Size Bronco with me (300=) inside. THey would go the length of the lot, 100yds of so over speed bumps and then I would turn it around  and go back. They loved it. I probably should have lost my job after I hit the breaks a few times...coach needs to have some fun too.

After squatting and cleaning I got the 2000 Ford 150 Supercab out on the road and pushed.  Did it with the short choppy steps real fast and wow.  I rested a bit and did it again and then went and saw my buddy Ralf.  Was quite intense.  Italian Bronco racer with one horsepower at a time.  Anyone up there know him, he seems to be my kind of people.  Zolk, Dan, Roy?

We have been indulgin lately in carrying 470# cradle yolks up hill, and fliipping 850# tires.  .  We should try pushing my Tacoma this saturday with the parking break set half way.

Strongmen comps are for really tuff dudes.  Throwing is much more fun.

Donate lately?

I agree about the strongman comment.I bowed out for 2 years.I used to be a hodcarrier and then delivered drywall.I coudn't quite rest between the heavy labor and rigorous training.I tried the Games because I thought it would be much easier.Man was I wrong!I have little problems with the weights, but the technique gives me fits sometimes.I gained a whole new respect quickly. And the athletes are better bunch to compete against.Besides,I'm of Scots/Irish decent.

Myles this happened about a month ago just outside of Cocodrie, a little town in the bayou country of Louisiana, and while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real.

This out of state Piper was on the side of the road, hitchhiking on a real dark night in the middle of a thunderstorm. Time passed slowly and no cars went by.

It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in front of his face. Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly, approaching and appearing ghostlike in the rain. It slowly and silently crept toward him and stopped.

Wanting a ride real bad the guy jumped in the car and closed the door;

only then did he realize that there was nobody behind the wheel, and no sound of an engine to be heard over the rain. Again the car crept slowly forward and the guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running so he started playing his bagpipes real loud. The guy saw that the car was approaching a sharp curve and, still too scared to jump out, he started to play all the harder and louder playing for his life; he was sure the ghost car would go off the road and in the bayou and he would surely drown! But just before the curve a shadowy figure appeared at the driver's window and a hand reached in and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.

Then, just as silently, the hand disappeared through the window and the hitchhiker was alone again!

Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally the guy, scared  near death, had all he could take stopped playing and jumped out of the car and ran to town.

Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quavering and pipes soaking wet, ordered two shots of scotch whiskey, then told everybody about his supernatural experience.

A silence enveloped and everybody got goose bumps when they realized the guy was telling the truth (and not just some drunk piper).About half an hour later two guys walked into the bar and one says to the other, "Look Boudreaux, ders dat idiot that wuz killin that cat in our car when we wuz pushin it doin our GPP in the rain. And look beaux he still got that cat wit him"

I dated a girl back in college and we were going to visit some of her friends one day when her car ran out of gas...  I ended up having to push the car about four miles to a gas station...

I broke up with that girl...  But I liked the workout that I got pushing the car around...  So, I made sure that my next girlfriend had an even bigger car.

Okay-

My story is not quite as funny or scary, but its truer.

A few years back when I was right out of college and when I was still driving junk vehicles, I had an old pickup that I put a 'Holley Carburetor' in and, ... well ... it really guzzled the gas. It gave me some opportunity to become a pusher.

So one night when we were at one of those big family dinners, and there was like 15 or 18 of the family folks around the table, one of my uncles says, "Hey, I saw ya pushing yer truck thru that intersection in town the other day."

I said, "Do you mean that day when it was raining hard and all the traffic was backed up in both directions during rush hour cause I was pushing it by myself thru the busy intersection and noone stopped to help me cause the rain and all?  He said, "Yeah, that's it!"

I thought, "You stupid son-of-a-*****!" Why would you tell me and everyone else that you saw me when I needed some help and you decided to just drive by? What are you crazy?

Well, ...thanks for letting me know that ya saw me in town!
