All,

I'm new here, but been throwing for a few years.  Took last season off.  Came back and in practice, throwing about the same.

I weigh 260, stand 6'0, throw about 45 - 50 light, 18 - 22 heavy.  B class since the first game I won C.  Sometimes I win the B events for distance, sometimes not.

What do I need to do to go to 60' on light, 30' on heavy?

I got a great lesson from Kevin Carpenter at Kalamazoo a few years ago, and he got me to the 53 / 27 marks, but I never could finish it off and hit the 60 / 30 I wanted.

I was stronger then than I am now, would really appreciate if you agreed that I'm a fat putz and need to hit the weights - that kind of thing I can figure out.  Can strength get you another 20 feet?

Yes, but technique will aid you more. A great lesson from Carp and you added distance. BAM... No difference in strength! Hone your technique and get stronger. Strength without speed, balance, and technique leads to frustration. Take any "strong" person and have them throw, they may be the strongest there, but they are limited. Throw, throw, video, throw, throw, lift, throw, throw...

Thanks guys.

I'll go throw some more.  It's about dry enough again to do away with my excuses!
