I am just getting back into throwing. I have been battling a nasty little brain tumor for the past 3 1/2 years and my doctors say I am finnaly able to start competing again. Seems I picked quite a time to come back. Mindy Pockoski has finnaly overtaken Summer Pierson I never thought anybody would do that. What I need to know is where do I get myself some throwing gear? I live in Phoenix, AZ so I have pleany of options of games to go to but I need some equipment to train with. I am 43 now and like I said I am just now getting back to the sport after years of battling cancer so not like I'm planning on setting any records anytime soon, but then you never know.

Welcome back to the Game, Leslie. Why don't you look into finding a group in your area to practice with? That will get you your practice and the group might give you some insight into accruing your own implements.
You're fortunate that more Games are starting to add Master Women's classes to their events. A few years ago, you'd have had to bump heads with the best in "one class fits all women" classes! Remember that, at 43, you're looking at a whole different set of records! The Master Women's records. |
