I second the motion. I had a great time competing again with my buds Big John, Ed Cosner, Kevin Youngberg, Phil Strong and Joe Rogers. Brett kept me out of 1st and threw very well and gave me motivation to train harder. Good seeing the Sr. Masters, Dana Axelson, Shana, The Hobsons and all the rest. That's half the fun for me.

We were treated great, had everything to drink: water, Redbull, Fuze, Protien drink, pop and some red stuff that had Kevin talking a mile-a-minute. Plenty of protein and energy bars and of course Bass on tap at the track in the PM. It's small but I really like the 30th US Invitational anniversary key chains they gave us.The only thing Steve slipped up on was the 103 degree temperature, but some blame me for bringing that up from Phoenix (it was cooler at home that weekend). It was great seeing the Pros and watching my friends Mike and Andrew battling it out for the A's, as well as Mindy taking the field record in the open stone - I saw the put, she was a machine.

Thanks Bobby for bringing me my new 42 WFD, it must have brought me luck as I got a PR in that on Sunday, my only gold and almost got the field record. Look forward to completing my Bobby-Dodd-Collection (A's, Master's,Women's implements) when you come down in February. I was also glad to find out I didnt do too bad in the standing (Lowther-non-cheating-technique) WFH, but was glad when Sunday rolled around and got my 18.5' PR in the cheating technique.

Enough horn tooting; 3rd last year, 2nd this year....time to get serious for next year - It may start getting cooler down here in another month or so.

Brent

So, what did it take to get your account on this board straightened out?

He'd tell you but he's trying to put it behind him, so to speak.

Cheers,

Yes, the games in Cali were very nice and hospitable.  It was good to be welcomed with open arms there.  I sure hope Jess and I can get out there again sometime.

Oh, and the farmer's walk was crazy!  I've never done anything like that, except for the hay on the farm, but not for that long of a time.

eh...

Some Favorite Pleasanton moments:

Dan Taylor thinking that the sponsor Bass was the loafer company.

KO competing with yellow caution tape on his head.

SF Chronicle reporters thinking that I won the Braemar.

Drinking free beer (Dan, that would be the BASS ALE) with my Highland Games friends.
