I am having trouble with my sheaf, I am a big and tall strong dude but have plateaued (spelling?)  at 22' and want to eventually break 30' but my sheaf goes to far back...I throw from the left upright and I am still missing all the way back on the right side...I am right handed and have my left hand between the tines so essentially its being flung kind of behind me way to far.....I tried to describe in full...I'll try to get a video up soon

I don't think there is such a thing as to much back swing.
Everyone tells me to reach back farther. Prows is like 5'6"
breaks 30' in his sleep & takes a huge back swing. I'm
betting it has more to do with your release. Please post a
video.

I don't think he's talking about back swing, but how much the sheaf goes back behind him on release.

If it is running back and to your right (guessing you are right handed) you might be doing one or more of the following:

1.  Bending your left arm...the "block arm" slightly as you release.  This causes the path of the sheaf to move up and in.

2.  Looking and hooking...watch some of the guys on YouTube...they let the crowd let them know how they did.  Great advice I got from Baab.  Your body follows where your head goes...a slight turn of the head at ground zero can potentially equal a huge miss when you get up in the clouds.

3.  Check the plane your "winds" follow.  I was told, after another epic asskicking at Casa de Baab that the sheaf fork shaft should more or less stay between two "panes of glass" or "on a train track."  That way, as I am winding it back and forth, I am eliminating my natural tendency to wind the sheaf fork back and forth AND around my body...it changes the release.  Focusing on this definitely improved my sheaf...I went from "Terrible" to "Almost Watchable" in 2 years!!!

4.  Pick a point in the grass 6-10 feet away from your own feet and focus on that as you are winding.  I have noticed this allows me to relax the arms , neck, and shoulder cage a bit and keeps my head more or less out of the way when I get ready to get that last big rip.

Dude, I hope that helps.  You officially know as much as I know!  Get some vids and we can talk shop.

Word.
