Ok,
Last night's workout had an immediate flare up in my right elbow.  Inside the elbow joint, not like a tendonitis thing (I don't think).  The pain is worst when trying to apply force somewhat laterally(?) to the plane of movement, so when the elbow gets a bit of torque.  (Which is like very single thing you do when at home doing chores.)

Here is what the work out consisted of: (total of 50 reps before moving on..)
- Hang cleans to full extension (so more of a hang clean to jerk)
- Walking lunges w DB (doubt this had anything to do with it)
- Plyo pushups w elbows in close (on a low bench because of quantity)
- Barbell rows with reversed grip
- Dead hang till grip gave out

Now, the only thing that was new to me last night was the pushup style, but I have done clapping pushups many times before.  I have also been doing cross-fit for months so the quantity was not new to me.  None of the weights were anything huge as this was more a fitness/HIT kinda thing.

The other difference in my workouts this season is the higher rep weight lifting work outs...4*10's so that contributed to some DOMS that I had going into last night, but that is nothing new to me either for like the last 30 yrs.

Any thoughts on what might have pushed my elbow too far?  Anyone done something similar and gotten over it or did I just do something too stupid last night that I can't figure it out?

HA...so just about everything I did...sigh.  I wondered if it was the hang clean things that did it, if I had gotten too tired by the end and was locking out too much because my muscles were tired and not being supportive.

Then the grippy deadhang exercise seems to have been the wrong thing to throw on top of that.

SIGH (again).

I will be doing the ice and then wrapping for some warmth over next week, just sucks cause the GF and I just starting our winter workouts...grrr.

Reading that article also reminded me that my low rows two days before had been changed up to T-Bar rows and I was going to full extension at bottom...(cause somedays youre just a newb) so the elbows also had stress that day...gah.  Where did my brain go this week?
