These are short video's, but there are some athletics in all of them. Bill Anderson is featured in the 1959 video.  Whoever did the standing stone putt in 1959 had some serious pop and extension.  There's some HWFD in the 1930 video..bunch of caber and you all might be interested in how stone and hammer technique has changed.

Take some time and watch the Giants of the past do the business..

Braemar Gathering video, 1930...dumping rain..

Braemar, 1934

Braemar, 1951, with some names mentioned....caber, hammer, stones...

Braemar, 1954

Braemar, 1959, with Bill Anderson, I think... maybe Grant Anderson?  Bills father?

If you like this stuff, there's a bucketload of it on the site...  There's actually video of King George...the current Queens grandfather, arriving at Braemar in 1919.

Wow! Great to see those old boys throwing, Henry Gray throwing heavy ham 98` back in 1954 amazing, same shafts and hammers today and Jock Maclellan winning the hammer way back, George Clark was a legend and first to toss the Braemar Caber, looks a little shorter tho.lol.

I Wonder if they were on medicine for  their BALLS shrinking, ;-).

I love just watching them throw probably because they have all judged me throwing at some time and great to see them in their prime and also see how they used to putt the braemar stone haha how the rules have changed.

Great Links, now if someone could buy them and put them in a video for us that would be great.

OK, OK...color me ignorant!  Big smile  I would appreciate some elucidation as to who these guys are!

Honest truth, I was so jazzed to find these things that I just watched them about 5x each and didn't listen to the commenatary much, so I missed a bunch of names.

Looks like Alistair got a kick out of 'em!

It was fun to watch some of the greats and early years of the games. I noticed a couple things after watching a couple of the clips. First off, the parades went a lot faster back then. Their legs were just speeding along. LOL
Secondly, I've never seen so many people in the crowd watching US!!!!! I know some of you guys have competed worldwide and in many levels of championships, so maybe you have competed in front of that size of crowd. That just looks and probably feels amazing.

Thank you for sharing these with us.
