Finger snap on release. Technique or stone placement? Throws from 48' up have a nice snap on the finish. 45' no snap.

I just push the stone into my neck super hard. My wrist stays loaded as I'm pushing on the stone and then when I've got no more push is when my wrist flicks for that last bit.

As a consequence, I've got a pretty gnarly callus built up on neck that is slightly discolored due to the dead skin there, haha.

That is because you are a stud sully :-)

Since I didn't come from a T&F background I have zero flip. Hell I see in pics my hand doesn't' stay thumb down like it is supposed too throughout the toss.  No wonder my stones suck Cry

lol... you so silly..

elbow stays up, thumb stays down. From there, just push it into your neck hard and turn your head to face the stone. If my stones weren't soft, I'd be ripping skin off with every toss.

On a side note, I've developed terrible wrist pain as a result of doing this, hahaha..

I once went to grab a large stone at a game and it was Dan's head.  So I vote placement?

haha - for some reason I REALLY want to throw Dan's head - I bet it even weighs in right about 28lb!!!

For me, the best flick I get is when I extend up and over my left leg and out over the trig.  When I mess up and don't get up on that post leg, I can't get the good flick.  But also agree with Sully - got to press that thing HARD against your neck. - don't hold the stone in your hand - press it against your neck.

p.s. Oh crap - Dan's practicing.

I may have to make it up and spend a day with Crush Rusher and have him assist me.
