I seem to block harder when throwing
the HWT, this gives me right knee pain.
Do I need to improve form or wrap the
knee ?

Guessing your left handed?  Tough to say without seeing pics or video.  Wrapping the knee couldn't hurt.  You might try slowing the throw down and see at what point you start to feel the knee and adjust from there.  Again assuming left handed, you might also try opening up that left foot a bit.  Also what are you wearing for shoes?  Are they too aggressive and keeping you from pivoting on the balls of your feet?

Thanks for the help! I didn't think before
I wrote, it's my other left! After thinking
about it, I could use a hammer throw turn to
start. More of a turn on heel, then toes? Wrapping
might help also. Throwing one arm might take
some time, but I think it's not too much different than
two hands, just takes getting use to.

If it is at the block and it is hurting on the front pattela, it is a sign.

I've thought of that! At 63 I've never had any
knee problems outside hurting if over worked.
Most the time if something hurts I adjust technique
so that not so much pressure is put
on whatever hurts? Been at this since 50 years.

I seem to be in a zone of quad and patellas tearing of late or I notice it more since mine slapped me in the face.  Started with it hurting on the block w the heavy weight.  I hope your body takes a different path.  All the best, your clearly winning.
