I am frustrated lately with my hammers.  It is like a MLB player who is experiencing a hitting slump.  I cannot train/throw my way out of it.  (Quite the opposite, it only makes it worse.) Maybe I should not train hammers for awhile.  Anyone else have this happen and what are the cures for a hammer throwing slump? thanks

I would suggest that perhaps a little film might give you some clues on areas to address.

Too many questions here:

Do you have a point when you practice or are you just going out to "throw farther"?

Where are you losing the contact with the hammer?

Boots/No boots?

How many years of throwing?

Any injuries/changes in training/job/life that may be pre-exhausting muscles or changing your normal patterns.

More information is needed to help get information out.

Most things I see like this come from guys who go out with the mindset "Just throw harder."

Works about as well as you expect.
