Hi everyone,
After years of going to the New Hampshire Highland Games with the whole extended family, watching the athletics, and thinking, "I could do that, I've decided I'd like to try my hand in the games. Those particular events are invitational though, so I'd have to compete somewhere else... at least at first. I've never been to any other Scottish games though, and I don't really have a clue about technique, other than what I've picked up through observation.
I'm in Shelburne Vermont, on lake Champlain, so New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, and even Montreal are all within reasonable travel distance. Are there any other games held in the area?
Is there anyone nearby who trains and could give me pointers? I'll be doing some reading here too, of course, and I saw there are some videos available online.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

We have a group who trains mostly in central Vermont Waterbury/Waitsfield area.
I also throw some after work in Richmond.
Send me a pm with your contact info, we'll get you introduced.
