Hi, I'm Ali. I'm new to the games, and registered to compete in the Sacramento Highland Games in Woodland on April 29-30 as a beginner. I'm looking to train with others in the Bay Area, and any information/tips much appreciated!

Looks like you are in San Bruno?

Probably your best bet is the Stanford group. They are the only group on the peninsula. I'll send a DM with the guy who organizes their practices for you.
