Is t here a difference in throwing between the different shaped weights? (spherical, cylindrical, etc.) Is it a preference difference?

Some say shape matters but honestly think that it's a matter of preference except flower pot style....had a basic block(malcom doying)that everyone loved a+nd Said was a flyer...flyers. Have mike landrich now(his multi faceted...octagon?) and they fly like banshees! Flower pot...these are usually homemade,lead based with more weight at bottom with a long chain attached to small end(still legal of course as long as it tops out at 18 inches)....other guys will say the swivel type (like Polanik and Mike Landrich made one for the wife) but personally never a fan of these...I know Kearney Smith and Ryan Stewart have r#ved about them......only recomendation is to throw on all types of handles....thin,thick,round,triangle,D. Each game is different. Dontbe that guy that throws bombs with a round handle but shits the bed with D handles. Use them all

I second what Dan said, with one exception. The further the center of mass is from the handle, the further the weight will fly, which is why there is an 18" OL rule. But, that has to be tempered against the fact that really short, flat weigths have larger diameters and lose a couple of inches as they impact the ground sooner than a smaller diameter weight would. It all balances out somewhat, so its the thrower, not the shape of the weight.

Now if we get into the really light handle, with more weight in the head, debate, I will guarantee that combo flies further than a heavy handle, light head implement.
