Can anyone tell me where the hell I can find rock rosin to make me some tundra tacky?  Seems no one in North Dakota even knows what rock rosin is.

Get a hold of Larry Brock.

Go to your local sporting goods store and ask for
baseball pichers rosin (the little bag that they
sqeeze)
I don't know if Ryan Vierra has any of his SPECIAL
ORDER " Really-REALLY Hot" Tacky "       left
???
Remember IF you decide to concoct your home
made stuff....be WELL ventilated...do not BOIL. the
turpentine..you are basically working with a
flammable-EXPLOSIVE material....!

Don't they have horses in North Dakota? Go to a tack store / rodeo supply, they'll definitely have rock rosin.

There is absolutely no comparison between the grip goo made for most sports (Craemer firm grip, Mueller stickum, pow'r tack, etc) and real tacky. Good tacky bears far more similarity to carpet glue than any of those slimy products. Good tacky should take some skin with it on release. Call Brock and get the good stuff or try making your own, but for the sake of all involved don't use crap like firm grip, etc.

Well I will have to try some of this "real tacky" it sounds amazing. From my experiance with the Mueller paste and Spray on if its not slopped on it stays really sticky and not very greasy at all and has removed some skin a time or two also.

Hey Carlos!  You will have to tell me how to use tacky with a horse!  I'll admit we have lots of farm animals in North Dakota but I have never heard using tacky with them!

It's all about using the funny faces!  Good times!

Speaking of carpet glue that's what Dan Borque uses, don't know what brand but it seems to work well for him!

Speaking of tacky, why does the jar have such an affinity to turn sideways in my bag.  And why can't tacky be contained.  It has properties that will foil the tightest of lids.  Is this stuff made by Brock or Houdini?  At this point I do not even try, I just reach in the bag and I am tacked up.  Now on to removal?

Dan and the rest of the SoCONN crew use 3M Super 77 all purpose spray adhesive. I have started to use it myself. Works great and pretty easy to clean up with goo gone or go jo. My brother is in occupational safety and claims that the stuff is dangerous for direct skin contact, but I have yet to see any ill effects.
