Where do you get the wrist supports I see all the people who know what they're doing using in the Stone?  Are they specialized, or over the counter?  Any feedback would be appreciated.

My stone technique lives in a van down by the river which totally disqualifies me from answering this question but I got mine from Schiek sports. Go to: http://www.schiek.com/straps.html - http://www.schiek.com/straps.html  and then click on "want to buy it" then look for the model 1100WS

Sheesh, until I scrolled down to that model, I thought I'd discovered the source of Carlos's difficulty with stones:  using lifting straps.

Anyway, the main reason I've found for using a wrist wrap is to prevent an injury when a stone rolls off your hand:  I've never had any discomfort from a stone that leaves my hand properly, even though I've always had discomfort in benching (teeny wrists).

Here's a bit more information on specifics.  There are a couple of different styles, as exemplified by Altus wrist wraps, which you can get at Sports Authority, Dicks, and even Walmart:

 - The first are relatively thin, stretchy, and comfortable.  They give decent support by virtue of their relatively large width (and you can stretch them very tight, if needed):

 - These are thicker, less stretchy, but provide more support:

The one that's best to use will really depend on imponderables only you can discover for yourself.  One thing you should watch out for:  take the wrap off between throws, or you can end up with one hell of a bruise on your wrist.

By the way, the website for the links above was just the one that popped up in a web search:  I know nothing about them and am not endorsing them.

OK Smith or one of you big Push Pressers. I moved up in weight last week and now I strained the muscle in the forearm in-between the elbow and the bottom of the wrist. Its not too bad kind of in-between good soreness and a pull. Will wrist supports help or should I just grin a bear it.

I doubt wrists supports would help with something like that.  Seems like more of a warm up issue there.?

A pull like that could happen anytime, including in the lift-off.  I doubt wrist wraps will help with that, and it could prove to be one of those injuries that's tough to kick.  See how it goes, but keep in mind that you may have to take a layoff to get it to clear up.
