Brent dWood from Ny here spoke to a bit during MWC 2004( i finshed 5th in our class)how much difference in spinning the 56 to 42 is their for you...I can spin like a demon with a 42 but feel extremely bogged down with 56 spin for height can hit 14-6 standing 56..spinning low 13's.....standing 42 can hit 17-4 spinning 16-6 to 17-0 more if I practice it(lots of ad's at NorthEast Games won't lt you spin as uprughts are usually fragile or to close to the crowd)

Dan, (I wasnt at MWC 04, but glad to talk about spinning)

This is going to sound very obvious but going from training/throwing the 56 to the 42 is a very easy transition for me as you might expect, but this doesnt play out when I transition from a 56(WFD) or 42 to a 28. The HWD has usually been my honey and the LWD my bane.

Now, going from 42 to the 56 (when I have an A class to practice for) is like learning it all over again, It seems hugely more difficult in weight and timing than you would think it should. But when you go back to the 42 its like throwing a baseball!

When its working the spin puts >1ft on my 56 and >2.5' on my 42.

Best,

Brent

It is all caboose, if you have it in great quantity then you can spin, small caboose and you better stand there.  You can talk all the theory and form you want, but you have to have the puddin in the britches as my man from Ohio says.

Now that I can relate too.....  puddin in the britches...  I am lactose intal..  that would explain the lack of puddin..

See Brent there is a good reason I cant spin in WOB...

Ryan, I've started the spin and if I can do it...You should be able to do it.  It's not as hard as you would think.  Maybe if Brent is kind enough to bring his WFH standard and the 42 on Saturday, the three of us could work on it for a bit?---Al

Lard?  Who said anything about lard?  That is insulting.  I am speaking of big men with big rumps who throw the weight way up there.  Look at the international male(K Smith), he has substantial rump, but I would not race him.  And I would not use the term lard that is for sure.  Sean is not a little dude and neither is Ryan.  And again, I am speaking of cats that spin and throw it way up there, not casual or average.

I misinterpreted your "Puddin in the Britches" for fat, because Im sure you didnt mean "dropping a duece", that classic HG morning preparation.

Ahh, but "dropping a duece" before you spin, now there in lies the secret.

Key word: before.  Don't misinterpret and drop during!
