Finally got nervous enough to sign up and see what is on this forum.  Been a weight lifter since for ever (>20yrs), once upon a time thought I might try bodybuilding, now I play volleyball as my aerobic activity.

Finally saw a games in person last year and decided to follow up on a lifetime goal...and give 'er a go.

What are good lift weights to figure you have the strength?  My current numbers for reps are...squats 360lb, deads 315, dumbell press 90's. 
Personally I am thinking that should be good basic strength...????

Now I am going to focus on shoulders for the throws.

I have a home made caber and heavy weight and been messing around with form on those.  (Turns out my caber is too short, only 12')  Now that the weather is good I may get to the park, and freak out the neighbors some more times.

Glad to see there are KC'ers as new as I am.

There will be a demo during the St. Andrew Society Tartan Day on April 7th from 11-4pm at Starwood Park at the SW corner of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Midland Drive, Kansas City, KS.

You are welcome to come out and meet the seasoned athletes as well as several newbies like your self.  We do a demo for the crowd and get in some practicing too; learning for the new people.
