This has probably been asked before, but is the standard sheaf fork a three tine hay fork? The local Farm & fleet sells them & I thought I could save a few bucks & get started. Thanks-

I stuffed 20lbs of sissal bailing twine into a burlap sack I got for free from a local coffee shop. That seems to work pretty well.

John - If you are interested in practicing, there is a group that gets together in Rockford, IL; Milwaukee, WI; and Madison, WI and we can keep you posted.

Yep.  We're meeting in Rockford this week to shakedown the new standards.  Lemme know if you want me to add you to the list.

If you need to go cheap as I seem to always have to... you can make a sheaf from a bag of mulch and burlap from either Lowes or a gardening center.  They use burlap around rose bushes a lot.  A tree farm could help you as well for the burlap.  The mulch dries out but it's cheap and easy to re-pack. 

I hate sheaf.  Bet you can tell from that what my worst event is.

I'd love to come up to Rockford sometime. I work every other weekend, but we'll see what happens. Thanks for the offer & the advice guys!
