Hey Tom, welcome. I am the athletics director for the Maine Games and I can help you in regards to the games.

Yeah, those are good number for 16 for sure.

Do you throw for your school?

Hey bud, I'm new to the games too but I've been throwing shot and discus for about 8 years (and hammer the past 2 years since I started college.)  I've competed in 1 games so far, last august and I can tell you that throwing helps... alot.  So if you think this is something you would like to get into, I'd recomend throwing for your school too... its great cross training either way and its not too late to start this season.  And I know some highschools out east have hammer too, so that would be another great event help you learn some of the standard principals of the games events.

I tell ya. My boss would be pissed if she saw this thread.... I took notes at the 7 Habits thing I went to 10 years ago, but I must have missed the whole "Listen to understand, not to respond...." part.

But, it is good to know someone will be there to point and laugh when I miss the obvious.
