What are some good lifts to do that?  I have been doing a lot of plate twists, standing and leaning back, as well as lots of hip explosion lifts, ie kettle bells, hang cleans, and hang snatches.

The only problem, is that the first day out for practice of the year, I pull the paraspinals(throwing hammer), fairly bad enough that it's been almost two weeks and I am still not even at 80% with them.

I know I stretched fairly well, guess I could have done better though.  On a good note, I am getting electric stem done on the muscles twice a day when I can(for the past week), and that has helped a bit.  Any other suggestions?

Not sure if this will help but when i'm really tight from the hammer and just for back and oblique work i do these. Get on a hyper extention bench and extend all the way up until you are level with the ground. Put a broom stick across your back. Then, keeping the body parallel to the floor ie. contracting the low back, start to twist/rotate you torso in each direction, much like a standing twist. Hope it helps.
