Anybody know where I can get some Kettlebells...cheap? It seems that Dragondoor.com rules the market, but they are a bit pricey. Gill Athletics sells them from their Power Max division, which  are more reasonible.

Any body use them? What do you think? Where did you get them?

"Kettlebells" and "cheap" don't really go in the same sentence, unless the word "not" is included.  Back in the day, when casting was still a common art, a kettlebell wouldn't cost more than a DB.  We're a much more advanced society now, so we can't get half of the things we used to take for granted.

The good old days...a foundary on every corner and Kettlebell in every pot.

I miss the age of heavy industry!

Last I checked, all kettlebells from Gill Athletics were out of stock and had been that way for several weeks. I wonder when they will get a shipment in.

Find a welder, have him cut a 6 inch pipe to your desired size, weld ends and handles on it cut a hole in one end to load it. weld 2 nuts on the inside and a cover with two screws to hold it in place.
done

Our kettlebells are THE best you can buy in the US. We are much less expensive than most companies out there. [http://www.k2fitness.net]

I've also heard some complaints about the way the Gill Athletic KBs are constructed. Something about the handle length and the feel verses ours, Dragondoor's, and Max KB

I use them (but I'm a 2nd year mid A class Am) and my BIG arse buddy Mike Nease uses our KBs. I mostly do hang snatches with them, and add a ring handle for "over-weight" HG event training (e.g. WOB, WFD). Doing higher rep swings, swing snatches, and double KB snatches are great for conditioning and off day GPP.

I just bought a loadable version for 1" plates from New York Barbell.  They seem really well made and only $29 each.  I haven't thrown it yet, but we'll see how they last.
