Hey- What's better than meat? ... more meat! This year, I got a buck and a doe, and my youngest son got a buck, and my dad got another buck. So, our freezer is filled with venison. We're going 'jerk-crazy' with making all type of jerky. You can cut steaks into strips, press ground meat into strips and then dehydrate the whole mix. It makes a great hi-protein snack, its easy to pack and take into work. HPS-3x5,3x5,3x5,3x2,3x1 Good luck in your training, -AncientJerk

K,
It must be nice, I'm once again deerless. We have a late doe season here in Michigan and I'll give it another try over Christmas Break. Fill me in on the number thing (a weight program?) or is it top secret? 2 pound weight allowance for over eatting jerky. -Dave |

DC- No secrets,... but it is a test. You must figure it out yourself. Now think about it - what does HPS mean? -Who is Ken Jennings? |

RS- Aye, ... we've got a winner! Good work. Nope, I don't have any chains in my garage. I do have a nice collection of steel toys around my squat rack, but not those. Good luck in your training, -QuiveringLegs |

Why the neccesity of chains? I understand that accomedating resistance is a good thing but not always needed. If you want to work on your acceleration for the front squat(i.e. explosiveness) just don't stop at the top. Unlike the back squat you can just continue the path of the bar by jerking it. That way you have to keep accelerating the bar. This is just one way to get around the need for chains. I wish I had some myself Edited by Tim Pinkerton |

How ya doin?- Thanks Tim for that vote of confidence! One of my secrets to success is what I call "Date Night." During wrestling season I've got practices every night of the week and usually HS, Jr High or Kids tournaments on Saturday and Sunday. So, many years ago I started a little tradition by taking the ol'lady out on a date every friday night. I've recommended DateNight to all the other coachs and to all the kid's parents too ... and its been a big success. Simply, if you want to keep the ol'lady happy while you workout 6 or 7 days a week - all you have to do is start a little tradition of taking her out on a date once in a while, ... and telling everyone that you're doing it too. The more people that you tell the better it gets! I tell the kids that, "I've gotta hurry home 'cause its DateNight." She'll get a kick out of you telling other people about DateNight and she'll really start looking forward to going on a date with ya. Go ahead, ... start a tradition ... take the old lady out for a date. Good luck in your training, -SmoothMedicine |

"Go ahead, ... start a tradition ... take the old lady out for a date." Sounds like a great idea. Is Nanette free anytime next week? I want to try this date night idea. |
