22lb is the minimum for the rankings, so my recommendation is to find another one.

Hapy where does it say 22lb is the min for rankings?  The rules say (the rules on this site NASGA ) say a stone between 20 to 26lbs can be used.  So Jasen I say use what is easiest to make the games run for you if you have the time to find a stone great if not you are still within the range if they don't want that weight stone used then they need to adjust the rules page to state that and in my opinion the rules on the site that you post the score are the rules you follow.  Just my two cents.

It's not like there is a sanctioning body, so I guess do what you like. In the nasgaweb rules it does say 20 to 26, though in the 'getting started' section it says 22 to 28. Since I have been throwing, I was always told through oral tradition that braemar stone needs to be a minimum of 22lb. This is a standard size that is used in Scotland and at the majority of games in the us and Canada. That's not to say you can't use a unique size if you want. Personally if we use a light stone I will remove that score from the database for my own marks, it's not a big deal.

22lb minimum for the Rankings is correct.

The ranking rules are really only noted in the Celtic and Claw rankings, since that's the only place that they really matter.

You could technically throw a 16lb Braemar Stone and leave it in the Am Rankings if you were so ego driven that you needed to do that to move up a couple spots.  I suspect any game that looks at the rankings would quickly figure that out though.

If you use the rankings to tell your wife/girlfriend/kids/co-workers/etc that your "ranked #x" and that light stone makes you feel better about moving up a spot, then knock yourself out.

Hey, Jasen. I'll definitely be there Saturday with the wife and cub in tow. It's been almost two years for me, so I'm REALLY looking forward to the pitch this weekend. Also looking forward to seeing everyone I met at Glasglowlands in 2010 again.

Going to be perfect weather for throwing. :)

And for what it's worth, it doesn't matter to me what anything weighs. My throws are small and weak, so if I throw 6 meters or 6.5 meters, it's all good. Big smile

Cool, looking forward to seeing you!

Kind of a shame about your family, though. Mrs. Bear would've loved to see your kids again. :)
