That's a really great start.  Stones are awkward and develop a kind of strength that isn't easily developed with a barbell.  With different sizes and shapes of stones, try lifting them, carrying them, shouldering them, etc.  You'll get really strong.

Oh, and throw stuff.

A great way to builds strength when no Barbells are around.  Work on basics.  Deadlifts, squats and presses both over head and floor presses - you will need a partner to do these.  You can also make a cheap type of kettlebell with cement balls and rebar handles.  These are good for doing side presses safely, which I consider superior to regular presses.

Two days a week should be fine.

Monday : Floor Press and Squats

Thursday: Side Press or Overhead Press and Deadlifts

Keep reps low - no more than 5.

Throw, throw and throw some more.

I love to here of people training with stones.I try to train with stones often as possible. They've been around much, much longer than barbells;and are much more beneficial for functional strength. The suggestions above are accurate.Less is more when training with them.Don't push it too hard at first.I've also learned that you must throw to get better at this sport.I have noT&F background,so I'm learning as I go.I made no gains until I started practicing. The amount of time you put in is what will show on the tape.Trust me,I'm no world class athlete,or anything close, but Ive used some suggestions from this site and it has benefited me alot.Just my two cents.
