Don't know the names to alot of the lifts so I'll give a quick description if needed. Just have a bench(adjustable arms I can do squats off the back), some boxes, short sawhorse rests-height for shrugs/etc.,farmers walk bars,2" wrist roll pipe, and about 900# weight. Lift on a 3/4"OSB sheet on big rubber mat. All sits in driveway now until I can move it into an empty bay at firehall.

This week

1/25/10 Bi's/tri's-misc. sets and reps do once/twice a month

             wrist rolls-roll overhand/underhand/overhand/underhand=1set

2"pipe sets in bench arms shoulder height off back of bench

             WR-125#-1  110-1/1

1/26/10 Bent over rows 135-5/5 235-5 285-5 325-3 375-2 415-2 335-5/5

          Core/ab work-pullovers,plate twists,other

1/31/10   Deads 135-2x5 230-2 260-2 315-2 365-2 410-2 440-2 465-3x2

               Hex bar deads(plates/side) 3-5 4-3 5-2 5+25-1

               some core work,weighted twists etc.

saw the doubles routine on ironmind site. like doing it on deads, squats, overhead presses-keeps things moving along. and did the hex bar deads just cuz I'd never used one before.

2/4/10 Lots of medium weight for 1 to 3 sets 5 to 10 reps

push press, shrugs, DB snatches, core crushers, cable twists, hold 50#DB arms length pressing on end plates in front and do squats, 150# DB held like stone lifts for 2x5, few other movements just to work core and try new ones out.

I'm right around 300# give or take 2-3 pounds on any day. Added 5 or 6 feet to my HH and some other throws have improved but according to all the mirrors at the gym I might want to lay off the Waffle House a little.

2/10/10  Stopped in different gym to lift today(was in the area)...it was bad...MILFs, old folks and rubber balls. Spazzed out with cables, machines and 45# kettlebell (heaviest weight there). Called it a light day and left.

I need to get some instruction on how to do hang cleans properly. They really look like something useful.

Alan, I'm probably the last guy here you'd want to ask about proper form. And to tell you the truth you might be better suited doing DB/barbell snatches or other explosive full body lifts as far as weightlifting  translating into throwing. You might want to post on the "training" forum or look on youtube vids the pro's have on there. Hope I was some help for you.

Thanks Duncan.Hoping to squat 500 and dead at least 550 this spring/summer. Forgot to mention I ran into Chris Chafin at the gym. Super nice guy like everyone says he is. Even offered me the use of his secret stash of equipment there too. Knowing he's an officer and being a big dude my mind kept telling me to add "yes sir" or "no sir" to every sentence.

Breakfast Stout?

I always SWORE that if any job I was in, required a "Breakfast Meeting" I was quitting on the spot. However, this could get me to change my mind.

It has the consistency of used motor oil. Goose Island Oatmeal stout is better but can't find it here yet.
