6/4 oob games
After hanging with trob and family Friday night, was ready to do battle for the first time this year with scott DePanfilis and the rest of the ne masters crew. This game didn't disappoint, and like so many games, scott and. Traded firsts and seconds, until I was able to prevail in the deciding event and take home the victory by a single pt. Braemar 31' (2nd) Open stone 41' 6 on extras (sb) HWFD 37' yuck - had some fouling trouble LWFD 60' on extras Caber 12:00 (1st) Sheaf 28' 10 (1st) (sb) WOB 15' (2nd) |

Foot problem was an attack of gout. Yikes - one of the more painful things I have gone through.
Did nothing for almost 2 weeks except hobble around and ice my foot. Today - bike lvl 3 20 min Ss bench press with seated rows 135x8, 40kgx8 x 5, finished 155x8x2, plus more shoulder rehab stuff |

7/7 hockey
7/9 bike level 3 20 min Squat 155x8x2.0, 225x3, 275x3, 295x3, 315x2. Felt twinge in left hamstring so shut it down. Maybe a little throwing this week to shake off some rust? Heading to nyc to see cancer specialist on Monday, hopefully we get some idea of a plan and schedule. |

8/1 hockey
8/4 hockey 8/6 hunter mtn games Got to compete with some new faces this year, Gerrard and Norm both solid throwers keeping me on my toes. Hh 72' 1st sb Lh 88' 3rd sb Hwfd 39' 2nd Lwfd 55' 1st Bs 31' 1st Os 41' 1st Caber 12:00 with shootout caber for 3rd Sheaf 27' 1st Wob 15' 2nd Overall 1st Games is on a ski slope so no flat spots. Pouring rain to start the day with hammers. It was warm and wet, but I managed to get the handle dry enough on my 3rd attempt on the 22 to get a decent toss for me. 72' and I didn't even throw it down the hill for the advantage. The slight slope of the trig had me a little tentative with the wfd, and I kept throwing them up the hill, so nothing big here. Started feeling the hockey I played on Thursday night on the stones, no good push with the braemer, but enough for first. Open stone was a mess with me first 3 attempts way down, got the win with a 37', and then took extras because that was pitiful, and got one out to 41'. Caber was a small stick, I got 12:00 but norm and Gerrard had more 12:00s than me. Sheaf felt pretty good, made 27' and took the win with plenty to spare, but couldn't get the roll at 30' 6. Wob made 15' easy, but nowhere near 16'. Was really feeling tired at this point, as the sun was out in full force by now. Couple of weeks to recover, hoping to make it to Maine. Jessica restarting chemotherapy tomorrow. |

8/22 hockey
8/27 Quechee, vt games Braemer 32+ 2nd Open stone 41'+ on extras 1st Hwfd 37' 2nd Lwfd 55' 2nd Caber 11:55 1st Sheaf 26' 2nd Wob 14' 2nd Overall 2nd. Decent stones, but the wfd was a mess. I had tons of restarts just trying to find rhythm, and never did find it. Really started feeling drained and tired by sheaf, and had nothing left in wob. Need conditioning and more training time. 8/28 - bike 10 min, kettle bell and shoulder stuff Edited by Hapy - 8/28/16 at 5:54pm |

8/29 - hockey
9/3 - capital district Highland games Open stone 38 (2nd) Hwfd 39 (3rd) Lwfd 62' 4 (1st) SB Light hammer 87 (2nd) Caber (3rd) Sheaf 28 (1st) Wob 15 (3rd) Overall 2nd. 2 pts behind Dan Dillon, 1 pt ahead of Gerard Benderroth. I love the tight competition. Recovered a bit from the horrible weights from last week, but still was a bit off, my first lwfd attempt was only 49', and my first hwfd was 33', but managed to put a couple throws together on my 2nd and 3rd attempts. |

As usual great job Hapy and great seeing ya....day 2 complete and home. 9 women threw. 7 in the open and 2 pros(terri and Allison) amtr women was won by college student Morgan Palmer(Marcs daughter) but was pushed all day by Candace Price. Terri and Allison were in a 2 women battle. LOL. Allison won stone, hwfd, lwfd then Terri won light hammer, beat Allison in Caber, tied for height in sheaf(Terri won it by less misses/countback) then won Wob so 4 1sts to Allisons 3 1sts. (Allison really has improved and is boss in heavy and lightwfd). Good day all around

11/22 hockey night in Vermont special Tuesday edition
11/26 reffed 1 game Squat 135x5, 185x3x3, 230x3x3 Cut it short here, got a little loose on 3rd rep of 3rd set and tweaked back a little. I gambled that I could do my training after skating, and apparently i was wrong. Going to try to finish the prescribed sets and reps tomorrow, assuming back feels ok. |
