been a little behind on this log thing, but i've been practicing alot. 2 to 3 times a week. starting to get the hang of the stones. hammer is a little slower but getting there.
Waterloo Iowa Irish Fest in a couple weeks. i try not to plan on big throws just going to go have a blast. at least i'll get to watch the fenom crowley throw again.
the Lama told me to do some plyometrics to help my foot speed. so i got that going for me.

no warm up,a plate of pizza and sore
knees from leg day didn't help.

How high are you lifting that stone? Love to see a pic of that. Ever
wrap the knees for jump squats?

Crumby day at the gym so i played with
the stone instead. Got it to my knees on
the first try. Watched Steve Jeck's video
for some insperation and got it to my
chest on the second attempt. Third try
was to the knees again. My forearms are
going to need some roughing up, and of
course my phone decided it didn't want to
record any of the three lifts, but it felt
damn good getting the stone up.

Leg day yesterday. Just did some box
squats. Gonna do 3 weeks of 2 rep sets at
80-85%. Today DB incline worked up to
120s x2. Got a really good stretch at the
bottom. I really have to start doing
something for my gut( besides a big bowl
of ice cream )

The last couple of weeks have been some crumby workouts, then i
read the last few posts on the deadlift page. Wow, i've watched the
Jimmy V video three times. So having not done any deadlifts for probly
a year i got off my arse and did some today, and with half way decent
form( i was always the guy you see doing them and it makes you
kringe). It felt really good doing them again. Then i farted around
awhile with some push presses. 195 felt light for a triple and then i
barely got 225 for one. Grrrrrr. So i thought i would try some single
arm DB push presses and i love these. Goal by spring is the 150lb db.

After doing just above parrallel box squats
and half squats off the pins i realized i
have zero flexibility/strength below that.
Tried some ATG today and it felt great.
These will definitly be my main working
sets from now on. Thank you guys/gals
for teaching me yet another way to
improve on my fitness.
