season 1 was mint imo, finale really blew chunks though.

That sesh could be condensed into 70-90 minutes if I had the conditioning of Froning, but alas.. nope

upper this morning, meh..

FRI 10/17 UPPER @ 530A
Strict press to 265x1
Push press 275x2, 295x2, 310x1, 325x1
6" pin press (bench) working up to 405miss, 385x1x2
Floor press 315x2x2

Was supposed to do 3 doubles with 315 but no way I would've cleared another set after the 2nd. Pin presses were a kick in the nuts when I used to do 475+ without issues here. Sup triceps? 265 strict wasn't hard and the 325 felt alright.

Going to go jogging at lunch today, then some stationary bike and some rows/abs tonight.

just finished my jog. sup?

First mile was 10:59 yeah boi.
2 miles total in 25:12

Decided since my body wants to take a break every 1/4 mile regardless of pace, then I'll just push the pace faster to cover more ground. Suck on that fatty.

Reading your log hurts my heart. But since we're brothers in bald, I continue to follow you like a lost puppy.

Judgement: more jogging

MON 10/20 CONDITIONING @ 615A

Push jerk 175x8
Front squat 175x8
Ab wheel x8
x5 rounds in 16:38

Squat 275x6
Free squat x6
x5 rounds in 12:19

Same time as last week with +10lbs on the first circuit. This gassed the hell out of my legs though. Just unracking the first set with 275 had my legs wobbly. Overall the second circuit really wasn't super hard, I just couldn't efficiently recover from it and it was taking longer and longer through each round. Going for a 2mi jog at lunch today then some stationary bike tonight.

went for a 2mi jog at lunch on Monday, yuck.. 45 mins easy steady state on the stationary bike Monday night. S02E04 AHS is coming together to be a pretty good season.

rode my bike (MTB) to work yesterday morning, 13.5 miles in 52 minutes, best time yet, felt good but need to push harder. 45:00 is there..

WED 10/22 LOWER @ 515A
Squat to 495x1, 495x2, 485x1x3sets
Front squat 315x5, 335x4x2
Deadlift to 585x1, 315x20 in :30.97s

Jump squat 195x5
Broad jumps x3
x4 rounds

F. Squats felt great really, even the fronts. That 585 pull felt like 675 though. First time I've had to really grind a pull in a long time. Lats and pecs cramped up, lol. 315x20 was brutal after all of that. Jump squats better than last week but pretty exhausted by getting to these. Now it's time for some serious pressure on my lower back, lol.

my calves have been bugging me just below the gastrocs lately so I took a full day off yesterday. I suspect is from not having much of a break between running, biking, squatting, etc so I may need to back off for a few days. Still sore this am but a little better so I pushed the overhead work a bit more.

FRI 10/24 UPPER @ 515A
Strict press to 270x1x2sets
Push press 275x2, 295x2, 310x1, 330x1, 340x1, 315x1x4
Floor press 315x2x4
BB rows 225x8, 265x8x3
Hanging leg raises 2x12

I'll hit some stationary bike tonight. Calories sitting around 3600 now w/breakdown at 320/412/90 pcf. Bodyweight still at 280. Waist down about 3.5". Legs are a little leaner but the same measurement at 30". Arms are barely holding their little bitty shape at 18" (flexed obv, sup?). Calves have exploded, haha, j/k, why would I measure those?

45 mins on stationary bike Friday night

Worked in the back yard and garden Saturday. Pumpkins are about the size of cantaloupes now, yeah buddy. Harvested sweet potatoes and appears the heavy rain we got from the monsoons this year (8" total I think) caused a bunch of them to split so that sucks, still though, we yielded probably 30 or so out of 4 planted slips. Good sizes and only 2-3 are split. I think we're going to plant some cilantro, garlic and carrots in that area now. Not exactly sure just yet. Hoping the pumpkins are ready for Thanksgiving as I'm pretty anxious. Def going to be making a sweet potato pie out of the taters we grew. Cucumbers are growing well, lots of male flowers, not too many female just yet. Tomatillo plan is massive, however, when it first sprouted there were two of them and they were too close together so we pulled one....... not knowing they require two to cross pollinate. womp womp wommmmmp. So I've got two more growing and hopefully they're big enough before the first one dies so we can still get some fruit out of it. If not then at least we have two more growing. Jalopeno is growing but man it's a slow guy. Cilantro is close to being ready for harvest. Green beans are getting stalky and tons of flowers growing. They self-pollinate so there should be dozens. It would appear that by pulling the sweet potato vines we also eradicated the caterpillars that were eating up our foliage. Need to keep a close eye and introduce some ladybugs to eat their eggs. Damn caterpillars (tomato hornworm) can decimate your greens. Spinach and carrots growing well. Tomatoes are flowering but no fruit yet. Early next year we're going to put a couple more raised beds and possibly come chick-a-dees in for some fresh eggs. Woop woop.

Moving on to less important stuff..

Threw Sunday morning.

SUN 10/26 THROWS @ 7A
15.5# stone stand x6-8, best 46
15.5# stone spin x5-6, best 53
56# wfd one turn x3
56# wfd full x5-6, best 41
28# wfd full x4, best 83
16# hammer x2, best 129

GAF was pretty diminished here but I wanted to get some kind of a practice in before heading down to Tucson next week. Going to exhibition with the A group so should have a good time.

45 misn on the stationary bike last night

MON 10/27 LOWER @ 415A
Squat to 515x1, 405x3 (max reps? lol)
Front squat 315x5x3
Pulls to 495x2, miss@545, 315x20
Ab work, sup?

30 mins on treadmill:
.25mi@3.3-3.7mph

.25mi@3.3-3.7mph
.25mi@10:00 pace

Took Monday off to recover from throwing Sunday as I was pretty sore. Core still rocked today but hit it anyways..

TUES 11/4 LOWER @ 515A
Squat to 530x1, 405x3x3sets
Front squat to 405x3, 305x2x5 (no belt/wraps on the doubles)
Pulls to 495x2x2, 315x12x2

Done. 530 was a smokeshow. Was talking to Craig0r about this: my walkout and setup are MISERY. The squat: Boomsauce. So weird. 405 triples were harder than the 530 single. Sigh. Almost lost the 3rd rep of 405 front, lol. It's been a long time since I've had 400+ on my front delts, the 305 doubles were pretty easy. 495 felt good and fast and 315x12 was a joke.

Going to hop on the stationary bike tonight for a while. Season 2 AHS ended pretty well. Starting season3 tonight. Need to get caught up on TWD as well.

yesterday was off day so I just did some cardio::

2 mile jog at lunch in 21ish mins. Paused my GPS between the 1st and 2nd miles. Ran both miles separately without stopping. First time was 11:14 and 2nd mile was 10:34. The 10:34 is a 25 sec PR so that's encouraging. Making improvements, albeit at a snails pace.

48mins on the stationary bike last night, 5/10 effort. Watched season opener of the Coven AHS. Pretty solid opener.

Now a real report

THURS 11/6 UPPER @ 5A

Strict press to 255x1, 225x8 (max clean reps)
Push press to 335x1, 315x2x2, 315x1 (missed the last double)
BTN jerk 275x3x4
Snatch grip rows 225x10x3

Might have been able to snag 9 or 10 with 225 but the last couple would've been ugly. 335 after that is pretty solid though. Barely missed the last double with 315. Not a huge fan of the jerks but they really make you use your legs. Snatch grip rows are new for me, I liked them.

Hopped on the stationary bike for 53ish mins last night and watched s03e03 AHS..

This morning's training was tough.

MON 11/10 LOWER @ 5A
Squat to 545x1, 405x7 (max reps, ugh)
Front squat 315x3x3
14" box squat 315x8x3sets
Deadlift to 495x2

Deadlift 225x2 Power clean 225x1 = 1 rep, 4 sets of 3

^was supposed to do 4 sets of 6 but F, this was exhausting after everything else. Still a bit timid from the bicep tear in May as I haven't done many cleans since then so the more I got fatigued the more I turned into a pussy.

545 was fast. Felt awesome, despite jumping my progression a little (was supposed to go 535 but didn't see that until after I had already gone 545). Deadlift was fast too, didn't feel awesome though. The box squats were misery.

Speaking of misery, finished off on the treadmill::

.1mi @ 3mph
.25mi @ 6mph
.1 @ 3
.25 @ 6.5
.1 @ 3
.25 @ 7
.1 @ 3
.25 @ 7.5
.1 @ 3
.5 @ 6

2 miles total in 23:48. The 7 and 7.5 were pretty tough, usually the treadmill says what kind of pace it is but this time it didn't so I'm not sure. Through some easy math the 7 and 7.5mph are approx 8.30 and 8:00 min/mile paces so I'm pleased with that.

How long does it generally take you to complete this entire workout? So much volume, my ears are ringing just reading it lol

Impressive squat btw

lol @ time.

I stepped foot in the gym at 445 and left at 805 this morning.

That includes the treadmill.

I tend to putz around between sets.

When I train upper at home it's prob 1:45-2:00 and when I do my conditioning it's about 1:00-1:15ish. Legs are by far my longest day, they're just exhausting and the more tired I am the longer I take between sets.

^gonna be honest... there's very few things I enjoy doing in the gym.

Pushing myself into the realm of pain isn't one of those. I feel great afterward, but the act of doing it is awful.

With that being said, it really makes getting off the bench difficult. haha.

My overhead work usually takes 45-55ish mins and my squatting (not including modified squatting, fronts, box, etc) usually takes about an hour, both including warmups. I like these. Outside of that, ughhhhhhhhhhh... and no, the "just get it over with" idealism doesn't make me work any faster.

I would be thinking of all the things in my life that I'd rather spend my time doing, and then I'd hate myself for spending 3.5 hours in the gym, lol.

Well..... I hate my job more than I hate the gym, so it's easy to stay there for 3.5 hours and drag my workout out way longer than it needs to be.

When I train at home I usually play with my kids or hang out between sets so that's why it takes longer than it needs to there.

hit the spin bike last night for about 45 mins then some upper this morning..

WED 11/12 UPPER @ 515A (in garage)
Strict press to 245x2x3sets
Push press 275x2, 295x2, 315x2x2 (max reps x2 sets)
Snatch grip rows 225x10x3
Speed strict ohp 65x3x10 w/approx 30s break between sets
Band woodchops mini+MMx8x3 each side
Hanging leg raises 3x12

Energy and drive were pretty damn meh this morning. The 225x3 workup set on ohp felt heavy and each push press was progressively harder. Legs didn't want to fire and triceps didn't want to finish, lol. Whatevs, worked through it and overall a decent sesh. Finished at about 745am. Ha. My oldest came out at about 615 and we hung out between sets. My youngest came out at about 7 and joined us. Good times. I hooked up a little resistance tube to my rack and we were all doing woodchops together. So fun.

doubtful, but it's what's being programmed for me so I just follow orders at this point.

My weight is dropping (albeit, very slowly)
I'm getting (slightly) stronger
My cardio/conditioning is vastly improved

With that being said, after one practice in 5 weeks I went 112/138 and 45/80 on the field and legit shots at 32 sheaf which I haven't been close to all year. Something is working so I can't bitch too much.

The marathon lower sessions are really tough though and leave me ragged for much of the week, lol. The cardio seems to help with recovery.

today is conditioning day but it's also my 6 year anniversary w/Mrs Sully so I'll make up the workout tomorrow. Taking a 1/2day at work today and heading up north for a little getaway from the kids.

Meanwhiles, got some yogging in yesterday.

Mile#1 in 9:37
Rest 6-7mins
Mile #2 in 9:31

With that being said. The last 4 miles I've ran have been successively faster. Next week I'll slow the pace and work at going 2 miles.

took Friday and Saturday off and did my conditioning work yesterday..

SUN 11/16 COND @ 5A

Push jerk 175x8
Front squat 175x8
Power clean 175x8
x3 rounds in 22:xx

^This was supposed to be 4 rounds. F this was hard. Additionally, I wanted to make sure I didn't stop short of the 2nd circuit I bombed last week.

.25mi jog
10pushups
10burpees
x6 rounds in 33:xx

Much better than last week. I think I could go a bit faster as well as the jog was more of a recovery than a push. The burpees are stupid.

Was supposed to do some abs and RDLs....... but that didn't happen. Squatting tonight or tomorrow morning and jog at lunch today.

hit the stationary bike Sunday night for 45 mins while watching AHS.

hit the street yesterday on my lunch break. 3.01 miles in 34:11 for an avg 11:21 mile. Longest distance/duration to date without stopping to walk at all.

then lower this morning.. O_O

TUES 11/18 LOWER @ 5A
Squat to 495x2, 495x1 (max reps for each, lawl)
Front squat 315x3, 315x4x2 (max reps for each)
Deadlift + deadlift + power clean = 1 rep - 225x2x4sets

Treadmill
5 min walk to warmup
.5mi in 4:20
5 min walk
.5mi in 4:20
4 min walk
.5mi in 4:20
2 min walk
...............and I cashed out. Was supposed to finish with another .5mi but by this time I was limping my calves were so sore and throbbing. I popped off the sides of the treadmill once or twice for each of them for no more than 15 secs each.

Was hoping to go 3-5 with 495 but after unracking 455 I quickly came to the realization that wasn't happening. These were supposed to be "max clean reps" which means leave 1 in the tank. There most certainly wasn't another in the tank on the double with 495 and the 2nd set was about the same so I just singled it. Fronts felt.... ughh. That's how they felt. The DL+DL+PC is really cool. Really makes you yank hard to get it up to your shoulders. My GAF/WIM was very low today. Just no gas in the tank. Making strides of improvements on my jogging and overall conditioning. Bodyweight sitting around 277 now.

Supposed to do some TABATA biking tonight. -_-

THURS 11/20 UPPER @ 430A
Strict press to 250x1x2sets
Push press 275x2, 295x2, 315x1, 325x1x2, 225x17 (max reps in 1:00)
Meadows rows +90x20x2

Upper felt like it was lagging today, legs had lots of pop though. Meadows rows, yawn. I prob should've done them without straps to make them harder. I've been using straps a lot lately as my left elbow has been bugging me during pulling/row type movements.
