Nice.  Sounds fun.  Think I may need to make it here next year as an old guy, unless I actually can make it to Scotland.

so earlier in the week I did a bunch of muscle snatches and pulls, was feeling beat up, next day couldn't swallow. Went to the urgent doc as a penciliin drug seeker. Scored. Strep.

Feeling a bit better today.

Squats 135x10x3
2 machine exercises for 5 sets each of 10

lots of light snatching

Then DL 405 for 5 singles

Not a bad little session, just trying to get some blood moving. Hopefully I can get some more meaning stuff in next week prior to Capital.

also, to the 9 people that read this log.
I don't have health insurance, by design. For me it's around 500/mo (minimum) or 6000/yr. since college, age 22 I've had insurance 2 of those 16 years. I've always worked for myself, effectively saving around 72k in my lifetime.

This last urgent care visit for strep cost me $100 out of pocket and then $34 for drugs. That $134 total is still like 25% of one months insurance and I still would've had to pay a portion even if covered. Obviously this plan isn't for everyone and I wouldn't suggest anyone do it, but it's worked for me.
I do pay out of pocket for a physical every few years just to be sure.
My situation just illustrates how horrible the healthcare in this country has gotten and it's no surprise where that stream of cash flows. I'm sure if I had insurance my visit wouldn't have been $100.

SMH.....You live life dangerously my friend.   But sometimes thats part of living.   And your right....that visit wouldnt have cost $100 if you used insurance.....it would have cost $200!!   Lol.

gotta get it in and i feel like i've been falling off here late in the season.
so i've been lifting a little and throwing a little less, nothing amazing.
i appreciate you leaving the #1spot open for TROB.  Wink

got two more left

Capital....which is essentially more of a circus than athletics and then LOON.

i also put myself in a position where i have to have that school thing done by 10.1

so making one of those treacherous adult decisions and siding with my career before athletics. I'm pretty close to retiring (at least part time) and I really want to keep my eye on the prize as opposed to being a ShouldaCoulda type guy.

so i competed at the Capital Region Highland Games
it was fun.
guys were great.
i felt weird....all day. like i was kinda hungover and mostly stoned with shackles on my ankles with force fields placed in every power position of every throw, so i could never get settled in there.
i didnt even turn the damn caber and my man Brendan did.....great for him though. He got to duke it out with Zolk. Think it really gave him a chubby. Hopefully he learned something from Zolk's celebration game.....cause Brendans looks like a rear bumper from a late 80's AMC Eagle.
still won the ams though, so whatevers. got a sweet blanket.

broke down hard Saturday night, throat/ears/nose all flared up so some excellent indica and 16 hours of sleep later....it was Sunday 2pm.
i think thats what exhausted feels like.
few days of nothing.

today felt really nice though.
cleans from box up to 275
squats to 365
power clean to push jerk up to 245

good sweat, felt kinda strong but defo not the myles ABdomination i've been seeing killing it on the interwebz. couple more sessions to get prepped for the clash of the NE training logs when I get to go head to head with the one, the only TROB.

Man.   I try to press 135 and it feels like 405.   My press game is weeeeeeeeeeeak compared to yours.

new gym today.
felt weird.
squats to 275x3x3
tri pump
leg extensions
strict press

not a bad spot for the interim, but it is kinda limiting not being able to drop weights.

also doing a meet 3.5.17

a few more sessions of general fitness and then its time to get back after it and qualify for masters worlds, i missed it by 1k last winter so i'd like to get that one under my belt this year.
