Returning to the games after about a 6 year lay off, and I only threw about a year and half the first time. Some friend who compete prompted me to come here and post some training in order to help the come back.

The last 6 years I have been basically sedentary, office job and raising babies and playing video games. I started practicing throwing again because I am tired of feeling fat, old and crippled.

Today threw light weight for distance till my back said time to stop.
2 video links, all advice and criticism welcomed. I am an old jar-head so my pride can handle it :)

On delivery set your feet and block with your body while you arm goes up for the release. Keep your head up, chest up, and watch it fly. This will help a lot.

Some food for thought regarding your backswing, or lack thereof:

Thanks C. I will work on that, though I am not sure I can bend that way.

Toms,

You are tall, but you aren't that tall! Bring your feet
closer together, and your grip looks wide too. Come to
Dallas already!

As soon as there is a weekend where no one is throwing/working AND I have disposable income I will come practice...

Sedentary for 6 years is murder. I didnt realize what a weak tub I had become...

Work out partner bailed and took all the implements so I am headed out to do drills with kettleball and logs.

Threw at scarby B class and took dfl in all events its was epic..

did get a new PR on Heavy hammer so I call it a win

Today really really sore...

Yoga, some stretching, then screwed a chain into a log and practiced some wfd drills in slow motion to work on the advice I got from some of the throwers there. Then used the log to work on the wob advice that
B. Boswell gave me. Back is killing me though its gonna be a while before I can throw full speed...preparing for Arlington.

I have Arlington coming up and I haven't been able to train at all...

Since scarby I have been tired, lethargic and every join I have is swollen and painful..I thought taking some time off would solve it..maybe I just have to work through it and invest in Epson salt and icy hot...
