Not a good night back was really feeling the
terrible WOB pull from Wichita. Went with
moderate weight concentrating on explosivness.

Back Squats 350x5x5, 400x5x5, 450x3x3, 475x3x1
Incline Bench 225x5x5, 250x5x5, 275x3x3,
Caber Curls 90x5x5, 100x5x5, 125x3x3,
Deads 250x5x5, 275x5x5, 300x1x1 back was all
jacked up by this point Deads felt as awful!
Bad session all around.

Back felt much better, really needed to work WFD drills
LWFD Standing, 10 pulls concentrating on hitting low point and
opening up, felt good.
Single spin, 5 pulls concentrating on hitting power position plus all of
the above
Full spin, 5 pulls fell apart a little at first, slowed down and waited on
the weight to come around a little more. Seemed to help.

HWFD Standing, 10 pulls, 2 inches away from best full spin in Wichita,
Singles, 5 pulls all about what I normally throw with full spin
Full, 5 pulls, first couple were bad, last 3 slowed down and really
concentrated on the final pull, season PR of 2 ft. (Big thanks to
Duncan!)

Light Hammer winds, 10x10 each way
Light hammer 10 throws 75% concentrating on countering hips and
staying long and loose

WOB, BAD BAD BAD, no explosivness, out of juice
I LOVE THE SMELL OF TACKY IN THE MORNING!

Planned on working sheaf and stones, weather had other ideas.
Really wanted the quick tune up before Joplin. Sat down and wrote
down a few season goals instead.

May 21, Joplin Games
Cleared 26 in sheaf, 28 looks real close if I can just keep from tensing
up! Open stone, not bad. Braemar could have been better. WOB still
no explosivness, translation..suck! WFD, better still not good, I can
feel the technique starting to come together, just need to impliment
what I have been working on in pieces at home and put it all together
on game day. Hammers, were to start? No flexability, not enough
counter with the hips, stay long and loose. Not a terrible day figured
a lot of things out, hopefully can pull some of it together in the next
three weeks for KC.

post! I would say something but frankly, she she scares me a bit! Lol

Normally a squat day, but the weather is supposed to turn bad
tomorrow so wanted to take advantage outside while I could.
Lwfd, 10 standing pulls, felt sluggish, 10 1 spins, more sluggish, 10
full spins, yep you guessed it, sluggish.
Open Stone, these felt decent, hit 40 with a 15 lb stone, 37 with the
19 lb. Did these using my odd ball glide/bull rush technique. Tried
working a spin, hit around 35 consistantly, needs work.
Braemar, not great, refer to lwfd for explanation.
Sheaf, did about 10 pulls nothing great, shanking it off to the right
pretty bad. Of course the last couple games I have been using Irvin
forks, mine just feels wrong now, big difference!
Thinking I should've taken a little more recovery time. Gunna scale
back some lifting and hit the field more, thanks Wayne!

Went out and hit all nine events today, 5-8 throws
per.
O.S. nothing great, still trying to get the spin
down.
Breamar, felt better than last week, really open up
and snapped the hips.
LW. Slowed it down, concentrated on waiting on it,
and keeping my cast lower.
HW, see above, felt much easier to handle.
Hammers, PR! Got told at Wichita "if I'm gunna
carry that much ass around all day use it on the
hammers" did just that, thanks Brittney!
Caber, worked on planting and popping. Felt
better, gotta keep the elbows bent.
Sheaf, nothing great, 25 ft with a 20lb bag
WOB, bane of my existance. Somethings off, I was
just squeeking over 11 every time. Just for kicks
switched it to left hand and cleared it by about six
inches inches all 5 throws. I guess my feeling is if I
can clear it that easily with the left oughta be
hitting at least that with the right, anyone ever run
into this? Need to get some video done to
compare

LW 20 throws form felt good, release felt awful.
HW 20 throws, same as above, really need to work on letting the
wieght hit its low point before I pull. WOB 20 throws still no
explosiveness....yet.
Sheaf 20 throws not terrible, not great.
Cardio

O.S. 16 lb stone, about 10 throws furthest was 42 ft (big
improvment!) nothing below 40. Felt really explosive.
Braemar, 30 lb, 10 throws all hovered right around 30 ft
L hammer, 10 throws, felt pretty loose and long, best was 96, nothing
below 90.
Sheaf, 20 lb, played around a little with a spin, hit 22 consistantly
standing, 26.
Good practice, seems like things are coming together. Explosivness,
gotta love it!

Despite my poor showing had a blast. Really disappointed in every
event, oh well chalk it up to a bad day I guess. Got over a month till
the next one, have to get healthy and pull it all together.

Ankle felt decent, decided to tape it and lift.
Front Squats, Bench, Deads, 10x3 all done fast with lighter wieght,
dropping it down as I felt less explosivness. 20x50 jump ropes.
Actually felt good to get the ankle a little more mobile. Going to really
watch it though, don't need any further damage.

LWFD 15 throws nothing special, had some issues
coming out the back of the box.
HWFD 4 throws, felt some pressure on the ankle
called it good.
Light Hammer got 4 throws, snapped the handle.
Damn shame to, felt better than they had for
awhile.

Threw sheaf and stones in 60 mph winds! Actually went pretty good.
Sheaf, about 20 pulls, 20 lbs. I've been pulling my head down and to
the left lately on the pull, concentrated on keeping it up. Started out
only hitting 23 ft,stopped using the warm up swings on my 10th pull,
started hitting 28 or better consistantly. Anyone else do this? Felt
great after that just need to carry it over to the games situation.
Open stone, 10 throws hitting right around 40 ft w/ a 16 lb stone.
Another one of those I need to get carried over.
Breamar, 5 throws. Not really popping the hips, 30 lbs about 25 ft.
Was going to throw more but tree branches started coming dow by
this time.
Ankle is feeling a lot better, picked up a new brace helped a ton.

WFD, about 15 light, 15 heavy. Worked on sinking down a little more
in the turns, using more leg drive. First spins all felt better, release
was WAY to high, looked more like a spinning wob release. The one
good thing is I was hitting about what I normaly do with it. If I can
get the release down some should see improvment.
Sheaf, about 20 pulls, 20 lb. Felt decent, nothing below 26, most were
touching 30. Played w/ a spin hit 25 fairly consistantly once I got the
timing down.
